Statement of Faith

WE BELIEVE there is one and only one living and true God, and that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Exodus 20:2-3; II Corinthians 13:14; I Peter 1:2).

WE BELIEVE in the inspiration, inerrancy, authority, and sufficiency of the Scriptures, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21).

WE BELIEVE the Biblical account of the creation of the universe through the direct and immediate creative acts of God (Genesis 1 and 2).

WE BELIEVE God created man and woman in His image and likeness and that physical life is His sovereign gift and blessing to mankind. All human life is sacred and the deliberate killing of the unborn, the sick, disabled or elderly is an abomination before God.

(Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 2:7; Genesis 9:5-6; Exodus 20:13; Matthew 5:21-22; James 3:8-10; I John 3:15). 

 

WE BELIEVE Adam and Eve’s union as man and woman modeled God’s design for marriage and perpetually stands as God’s loving and righteous will for human sexual intimacy. Sex outside the marriage relationship, as designed by God, is condemned by Him. (Genesis 2:18-25; Psalm 127:3-5; Matthew 19:3-9; Mark 10:6-9; Ephesians 5:18-32).

 

WE BELIEVE that all men are sinners by nature and in conduct, and cannot save themselves (Isaiah 64:6-7; Romans 3:10-18, 23; Romans 6:23).

 

WE BELIEVE in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ and that He is both fully God and fully man (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Philippians 2:5-11).

 

WE BELIEVE in the substitutionary death of Christ and in His literal, bodily resurrection from the dead (Romans 5:19; John 20:26-29).

 

WE BELIEVE salvation is by grace through faith in the finished, redemptive work of Christ alone, and that no works of man, however good, need to be or can be added for salvation; evidence of salvation appears in the holy fruits of repentance, faith and newness of life (Romans 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:8-10; John 3:16-17; Hebrews 10:10-12; 2 Corinthians 5:17).

WE BELIEVE in the eternal salvation of all who put their faith in Christ and are kept secure by God the Father (John 3:3-21; Romans 8:35-39).

 

WE BELIEVE in the primacy of the Church as an ordained institution of God with Christ as its Head. We subscribe to the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper for all those who profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (Ephesians 2:20; Colossians 1:18).

 

WE BELIEVE in the reality and personality of the Devil or Satan, the enemy of God and man (Matthew 4:1-11; John 10:10; Revelation 20:10).

 

WE BELIEVE in the literal, personal, imminent, and bodily return of Jesus Christ to the earth for His own (Acts 1:11; Matthew 24:29-31). 

 

WE BELIEVE in the bodily resurrection and immortality of all believers at Christ’s return (Acts 1:11; I Thessalonians 4:13-18). 

 

WE BELIEVE in the existence of a literal heaven and a literal hell and that all human beings will spend eternity in one of the two places
(Luke 16:19-31; Revelation 20:14-15).
